Kelly embarked on her writing career in 2007 with her youth novel entitled Kimimela. . She began her art career in April of 2009. "I have always been fascinated with art and enjoy the beauty of the different styles and mediums. I especially love wildlife and western art and I am drawn to pencil. I always wanted to take lessons but never seemed to find the time. One day in April of 2009 I picked up a pencil and proceeded to sketch a picture of my son and daughter's legs in their jeans, boots and belt buckles, standing in front of the tack room. I realized that God had given me yet another talent and I feel so very blessed. I am learning as I go, teaching myself, and thoroughly enjoying every aspect of it. I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing me the opportunity to bless others with the gifts and talents He has given me."

Kelly Hyslip graduated from Mayer High School in May of 1982. She graduated with honors as the class Valedictorian. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Homemakers of America, Girls Athletic Association, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She played varsity volleyball and softball.

She married Bryon Goswick on September 25, 1982.
